The sudden passing of Roy in August 2023, our friend and colleague, has left us with heavy hearts. He was a member of the Baum, Smith & Clemens Family for over twenty years and has left a lasting impression on those he knew. The ultimate professional who always wanted to help you no matter how clear-cut or difficult the issue was. His passion for taxes was obvious by his leadership habits of working long hours, training our staff, resolving various tax issues and presenting creative tax planning ideas for our clients.
Roy enjoyed spending time on the golf course at Talamore Country Club, in his backyard tending to an impressive garden and getting away to his happy place, Ocean City, NJ. It was here in OC, that he would sit on his deck listening to “The Boss”, hanging out with family and friends, enjoying dessert and maybe a beverage or two.
A sports enthusiast since his childhood, it continued throughout his entire life. Roy was an avid baseball and basketball fan. He encouraged his children to participate in both sports and he coached them in the Lenape Valley Basketball Youth Organization. His involvement taught him that communication, teamwork, creativity, innovation and flexibility are important qualities which he brought to his work.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly, his son Andrew and daughter Ashley.
