You’ll want to complete and mail Form 8822 to the IRS to ensure correspondence arrives at your updated address. It only takes a few minutes to complete the form. While you’re at it, remember to inform financial institutions, local post offices and anyone else who supplies important mail. Notify your employer of the good news and make sure your W-4 reflects your new filing status and name/address change.
